Picking point-cloud software
Raw scans are a headache. Gigabytes of noise, plus whatever wandered through the shot while you were capturing. FARO SCENE 2026 is the step that turns that mess into a model someone can actually work with.
Registration eats most of your time, so it matters that SCENE does both target-based and targetless. No spheres on site? Fine. Cleanup filters drop the moving stuff, people and vans, before it smears the cloud. Then you get colour meshes and a high-res panorama to check the result before exporting.
Export is where it earns its place. Straight into Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks. PRO VR export and virtual tours are included, not a paid add-on. Handy for as-builts and client walkthroughs. It talks to FARO Focus scanners and other brands too, so you're not married to one vendor.
One hardware warning. Big clouds eat RAM. 16 GB and a discrete GPU, minimum, or the review step will make you miserable.
